This week the New Chemin de Fauvism in Collioure was presented to the local press. Jacques Manya, the mayor of Collioure, Denise Snodgrass the Culture minister, France 3 and a number of photographers and reporters were shown the new Reproductions of the works of Matisse and Derain from the legendary summer of 1905. They are well displayed along the sea front of the village. Some are well known, others less so and one is from the Bridgestone Museum of Art in Tokyo. All tell of the birth of the revolutionary Fauve movement in art at the start of the 20th century. The talk is fascinating and the visit ends in the Espace Fauvism where books, post cards, posters are well displayed and for sale.

This summer Collioure promises all manner of activities : sportive, culturel and gastronomic.
