Hello Everyone

In the latest P-O Life magazine there is a lovely piece about our President, Penny Parkinson.    A couple of paragraphs and we think we’ve got the gist of who she is and what she does but, as we know, there is more – much more in fact because she is now President of CSF (National).  She was nominated and delighted to accept the role at their AGM last month.   Congratulations Penny – this is great news!

CSF ANNUAL OPEN MEETING Perpignan         Tuesday 5 April

We are very much looking forward to meeting up at the Hotel le Mas des Arcades in the Porte d’Espagne area.  Check their website for directions  (http://www.hotel-mas-arcades.fr) and you’ll also see that there is a large carpark.

Pablo’s Bar in the Place Pablo Picasso.   Do come to the bar and have a coffee, browse through the books and chat to friends and members.

The Café des Artistes is the venue.   We still need more books.  Please do ask your friends if they have any paperbacks they want to exchange or just leave with us.  Everyone is welcome to come along.  Buy a coffee and choose two books.

Wednesday 20 April  –  Ille-sur-Têt  –  10-12

Lizzie’s Kitchen 16 Route de Prades

This month Penny Parkinson will be talking about the trip she did last year to Peru.  Lizzie will provide coffee, tea and cake.

DATES FOR YOUR DIARY

Sunday 4 September At Home Caixas

Penny and Frank will be welcoming us into their home once again. 

Sunday 18 September   Walk or Run for Life 

CSF Languedoc have been running an event for the last 6 years under the title Walk for Life and they have raised money and awareness for cancer on a grand scale.  Now CSF wants to take up the baton nationally and extend it to all 13 CSF associations throughout France on the same day.

This is a day of fun and fund-raising with people running or walking as little as 4.5km and up to around 10km. 

At the moment we are just asking you to make a note of the date and to think about whether you would like to take part or whether you could help in the organisation of this event here in the P-O.  

Saturday 15 October Autumn Ball Bages

We always enjoy this annual event and last year was particularly successful.  It’s a splendid evening of fund-raising with prizes, music and dancing and of course our band, Zircon who have been booked again for this year!  Don’t miss it – you’ve had plenty of warning – put it in your diary.
