Local artist Clare Gallaway who lives in le 66 is exhibiting this month in the Aude.
More than 30 of her watercolours and ink and wash paintings can be viewed (and bought) during the month of July in the Tourist Office at Cucugnan: Office Intercommunal du Tourisme, Hautes Corbières. The office is open every day 10 – 19 h including Sundays.
Clare paints countryside and seaside scenes, vineyards and villages, and since this exhibition is in the shadow of both Quéribus and Peyrepertuse, there are several interpretations of these two imposing mediaeval buildings. Collioure and Carcassonne also feature strongly. Clare says ‘My aim is to capture the essence of this beautiful region.
