Confrontation Film Festival

Every year, in the spring, the Jean Vigo Film Institute organises the international film festival, Confrontation. It is a major event on the Europe cinema calendar and focuses on the relationship between history and cinema.

Originally created in 1964 by Marcel Oms, cinema historian, last year’s festival was short and sweet, designed to whet our appetites for the full-fat festival that’s back in 2024.

Although water may be scarily scarce, the films on the theme of water are abundant so prepare to plunge into a programme dripping with talent.

Past events mostly took place in the Cinéma Castillet, but this year, the festivities have found their new home at the Casa Musicale, complete with food trucks, outdoor concerts and more.
