SUMMARY:CSF NEWSLETTER: NOVEMBER 2016
DESCRIPTION:  \nHello Everyone \nIt’s the end of October\, I’ve just come back from a walk and I’m wearing shorts!  The countryside is still displaying its summer wardrobe and the trees and the grapevines are as uncertain as I am about casting their clouts.  The days are shorter now and it’s a race to get everything done so that there’s time left at the end of the afternoon to go out and join the birds and the butterflies. \nHere’s what happened in October: \nScottish Country Dancing in Eus on the 14th  \nMany of you came and brought cakes and joined in the dancing.  €141.35 was made for CSF and we were able to donate €60 to the Clowns hospital.  Thank you to those who gave their support. \nAutumn Ball Bages on the 15th  \nThe Ball raised €1900 for CSF and we have made a donation on top of that to La Ligue from the tombola/bottles of €250. This means that CSF Sud will go into 2017 in a comfortable position and it will help with the added costs which will be incurred with the addition to our « patch » of the Tarn and Garonne (east). \nThank you for coming and thank you for your generosity.  We must also thank the CSF team of helpers who planned\, organised and lent a hand on the night! \n\nCHRISTMAS CARDS  \nWe have some new Christmas Cards this year.  They will be on sale at all our events during this month and next. \nHave a look at our website  \n\nIf you’re not able to come to a Drop-In or to the Christmas Market\, please email your order to Penny sud-president@cancersupportfrance.org and she will make all the arrangements regarding payment and delivery. \nEveryone is welcome at the Drop-Ins.  If you just want a quiet chat with one of our CSF members or you want to meet up with friends\, please come along.    \nDon’t forget Christmas cards and lots of other CSF items are on sale at all of the following venues: \nWednesday 2 November    –    Céret    –    10.30-12 \nPablo’s Bar in the Place Pablo Picasso.   Go along and have a look at the books.  \nWednesday 16 November  –  Ile-sur-Têt   –   10-12 \nLizzie’s Kitchen at 16 Route de Prades.  Tea\, coffee and cakes will be on offer as usual. \nMonday 21 November  –    Laroque    –    10.30-12     \nAt the Café des Artistes there’s always a good turn-over of paperbacks\, English and French.  Also CDs and DVDs.  You can buy a coffee and take two books.  \nThursday 17 November  –  Perpignan   –   2-7pm \n\nVAINCRE LE CANCER – Defeat Cancer\nThis conference organised by ONCO-PO (Le Centre de Coordination en Cancérologie des Pyrénées-Orientales) takes place every year at the Palais des Congrès in Perpignan.   \nWith more than 3\,000 new cases per year in the Pyrenees-Orientales\, cancer is still a disease that scares\, especially the least informed. \nCancer Specialists will present to the public the various preventative measures\, the latest therapeutic advances and the proposed support given to patients throughout their care pathway.  They will be there to discuss various topics and answer your questions. \nYou can find the programme on the attached pdf.  Do have a look and if you decide to come along\, remember it’s free and everyone is welcome to come to any part of it.  \nCSF have a stand again this year.  If you’d like to help on the stand and/or join us for lunch at 12.15\, please let Gill know (gillharrison66@gmail.com). \n\nLOOKING AHEAD\nThe ANNUAL CHRISTMAS MARKET – ST JEAN PLA DE CORTS \nSunday 4 December        Salle Polyvalent                   9.30  –  5.30pm \nCome to the Christmas Market and find the perfect Christmas gift.   \nFather Christmas and Christmas Carols – stocking fillers\, crackers and gifts – Christmas cards and traditional English produce – arts & crafts – English Sausages* \nThere’ll be mulled wine and Lizzie is running the cafe selling tea\, coffee\, cakes and sandwiches. \nCSF will have a Raffle and a stall selling books\, Christmas cards\, notelets\, umbrellas and tea towels.  \n*Mister Saucisse will be at the Market.
