DESCRIPTION:Hello Everyone\n\n\nYou’ll be pleased to know that my strelitzia is recovering well after a couple of good dousings of rain. The birds of paradise are almost ready to take flight! The buddleia too has refreshed itself with some new blooms. The scent is wonderful. Behind us lies an alien landscape – the fire ravaged pine forest. Now\, great swathes of bright green greet me as I plough my way through the weeds. \nOut of the depths of the ash and soot has come a monster – its white trumpet shaped flowers will never open and there are prickly fruits hidden underneath huge fan-shaped leaves that look ready to grab me as I pass. The name of this woebegone weed is bound to be something like Gentle Giant or Forest Balm! \nOur Christmas Cards are now on sale. Click here to have a look. \nBRIC-A-BRAC wanted for a VIDE GRENIER in Maureillas (details below). Please bring your donations along to any of our Drop Ins or email me and I will try and arrange a pick-up. \n\n\n\nDrop Ins\n\n\nWednesday 4 October\, Pablo’s Bar\, Céret\, 10.30 \nCome along for coffee and chat. There will also be books and greetings cards and Céret is a great place to meet up with friends.\nMonday 16 October\, Café des Artistes\, Laroque des Albères\, 10.15 \n\nSORRY\, THE CAFE DES ARTISTES IS CLOSED ON MONDAY 16 OCTOBER SO NO DROP-IN I’M AFRAID See you next month Monday 20 November.\n\nWednesday 18 October\, Villa Lafabrègue\, Prades\, 10.15 \nThis month\, Norman Longworth will be giving a talk about Canada. There will be coffee\, tea and books as usual\, plus cake and biscuits. \nThis month\nOCTOBER ROSE 2023\, Clinique St Pierre\, Perpignan\n5th\, 12th\, 19th\, 26th October\, 9 or 11 am – 4 or 6 pm depending on the day \nLes jeudis roses de la clinique – four Thursdays of talks\, workshops and conferences about breast cancer. CSF will have a stand on the 5th\, 19th & 26th October. We’ll be handing out leaflets and chatting mostly to medical people\, letting them know what CSF is about and how we can help English speaking patients. \nPlease have a look at the programme. If anyone can do an hour or two we’d very much appreciate it. And don’t forget to bring some cash for the Tombola – lots of prizes to be won and proceeds will be shared with La Ligue contre le cancer. \n\n\n \n\nSunday 8th October\, Vide-grenier d’automne\, Prat de la Farga\, Maureillas\, 8am-6pm\nCSF will have a stand at this Vide. There will be Christmas cards for sale and other CSF goodies. If you have any bric-a-brac items collecting dust in your cupboard\, we’d love to have them for our table. Please let me know\, or bring them on the day. \nThursday 17th October\, CSF Sud Information Meeting\, 9.30 – 12 noon \nOur Information Meeting will be held in the Maison de la Prévention Santé in Narbonne. It is a morning only event\, starting with coffee. This is a meeting where we tell members what we do and encourage new people to join.
