With a mix of tradition\, community events and family-friendly activities\, towns and villages come alive with celebrations\, from egg hunts and markets to special services and seasonal gatherings. \nRemember to check with Offices de Tourisme for last minute changes. \n🐣 Easter Egg Hunts & Family Events\nA number of Easter egg hunts and family-friendly activities take place across the region each year\, particularly over the Easter weekend. \nEvents are expected in: \n\n\nSaint-Cyprien (Jardin des Plantes) \n\n\nCanet-en-Roussillon \n\n\nLe Soler (Lac du Moulin) \n\n\nToulouges (Parc de Clairfont) \n\n\nPrats-de-Mollo \n\n\nTorreilles (Chapelle de Juhègues) \n\n\nMany of these events are free and aimed at younger children\, often taking place in the morning. \n\n🎭 Giants Parade – Villefranche-de-Conflent\nThe Fêtes de Pâques in Villefranche-de-Conflent return from 4 to 6 April 2026\, bringing a weekend of traditional celebrations to this historic village. \nA highlight of the weekend is the colourful Giants Parade\, taking place on Easter Sunday (5 April) at 11am\, where traditional Catalan giants (gegants) process through the streets accompanied by music and festivities. \nWith additional entertainment\, street performances and family-friendly activities throughout the weekend\, it’s one of the most vibrant Easter events in the region. \n\n🥚 Easter Omelettes\nA much-loved local tradition\, the Easter omelette (omelette pascale) is celebrated across the Pyrénées-Orientales on Easter Monday\, bringing communities together to share food\, music and a festive atmosphere. \nSaint-Cyprien\nTaking place in the heart of the village\, the Easter omelette in Saint-Cyprien is a popular annual event. Visitors are invited to gather in front of the mairie from 12pm on Monday 6 April 2026 to enjoy a generous communal omelette\, often accompanied by music and entertainment. \nCerbère\nIn Cerbère\, the tradition continues with a friendly and informal gathering on Monday 6 April 2026 from 12pm\, where locals and visitors come together to share a classic Easter omelette and celebrate the day in good company. \n✝️ Easter Traditions & Services\nEaster in the Pyrénées-Orientales is also a time for tradition\, with several cultural and religious events taking place across towns and villages. \nProcession de la Sanch\nOne of the most well-known events\, the Procession de la Sanch\, traditionally takes place on Good Friday (3 April 2026) in: \n\n\nPerpignan \n\n\nArles-sur-Tech \n\n\nGoig dels Ous\nThis Catalan tradition\, where groups sing through towns and villages\, is expected to take place in locations including: \n\n\nCéret \n\n\nArles-sur-Tech \n\n\nSaint-Génis-des-Fontaines \n\n\nAmélie-les-Bains \n\n\nPrades \n\n\nVillefranche-de-Conflent \n\n\nChâteau d’Aubiry – Pâques à Aubiry\nA popular family event featuring egg hunts\, games\, workshops and entertainment in a beautiful setting. \nSaturday 4 April 2026\, from 10.30am to 5pm. \nChurch Services\nSpecial Easter services will be held across the region\, including: \n\n\nSt George’s Anglican Church\, Vernet-les-Bains \n\n\nRiverchurch\, Reynès \n\n\nKey Dates for 2026\nGood Friday: Friday 3 April \nEaster Sunday: Sunday 5 April \nEaster Monday (public holiday): Monday 6 April \n\nANY EVENTS WE’VE MISSED?
