DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nFestival Visages & Images de Méditerranée\n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]Visages et Images de Méditerranée (Faces and Images of the Mediterranean) is a different look at the Big Blue and its peoples. \nThe first of its kind\, this documentary film festival on life on the Med will take place from Thursday 24th to Sunday 27th September at the Amphithéâre de l’Arago in Banyuls-sur-Mer. \nThe Office de Tourisme Intercommunal (OTI) Pyrénées Méditerranée\, in association with the Cinémaginaire association\, have created this unique event to celebrate and educate residents and visitors to our very special region. \n\nThe Mediterranean\, a beautiful unknown…\nIt is there\, so close\, but what do we really know about the Big Blue? Not enough in any case to appreciate it at its true value. The festival will strive to improve our understanding of the Mediterranean. \nUsing the ever-popular medium of the big screen\, they will share with as many people as possible the pleasure of the sea. Through the eyes of documentary filmmakers and reporters\, internationally-acclaimed for their work\, festival goers will see the Med as they’ve never seen it before. \nA number of documentaries will be screened\, some several times throughout the weekend. \nVisages et Images de Méditerranée should also shed light on the rich history of the Mediterranean peoples\, their identity and their commitments. This event will therefore allow us to appreciate the diversity and beauty of the Mediterranean’s natural resources\, the preservation of which is a key issue for the future. \nIn addition\, the festival is intended to be participatory: the challenge is to create a link between scientists\, documentary filmmakers and the general public.
