It is in this small village that O’Brian lived and wrote his major works (including Master and Commander). \nOpen to everyone. In French and in English. \n\n\n[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”34900″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_cta h2=”Patrick O’Brian” shape=”square” style=”flat” color=”mulled-wine”] \nImage courtesy of Wikipedia\nRichard Patrick Russ\, under the Irish pseudonym\, Partick O’Brian was a British writer\, biographer and translator. \nBorn in Chalfont St Peter\, Buckighamshire\, in 1914\, he moved to Collioure with his second wife\, Mary\, after the Second World War in 1949. \nIn 1969 he published the now well-known Master and Commander\, which would go on to be the first of a 20-novel series set during the Napoleonic War. \nO’Brian worked on this series until his death in 2000.
