DESCRIPTION:\n\n\nTHIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED BECAUSE OF CONCERNS THE NOCTURNAL LIGHT SHOW WOULD DISTURB LOCAL WILDLIFE\n\n\n\nLlum lights up the P-O’s watch towers for the Olympics\nLlum\, meaning light in Catalan\, is a local provider of green electricity but as well as lighting up some of our homes\, they’re also planning an extra-special\, XXL light show to pave the way for the journey of the Olympic Torch. \nOn Tuesday 7th May\, as the torch arrives in Marseille and as the skies darken across the P-O\, Llum (in collaboration with France Bleu) will illuminate Catalonia’s heritage by lighting up our local signal towers. \n\nWhere to watch\nNamed the ‘Llum Tours‘\, you should be able to see this spectacular\, hour-long show from anywhere in the region\, so long as you have a clear view to the hills. \nThe towers that will be part of the show are: \n\nDel Far\, Prats de Sournia & Força Réal\nMassane & Madeloc\nBellegarde\, Cabrenç\, De Mir & Batère\nBadabany\, Vacaro\, Maures & Creu\nCastel de Roselló & Château de Canet\n\nIf you can’t get a clear view\, or if you’re not in the region on the 7th\, you can also follow a live transmission on France Bleu\, which will be interspersed with interviews with local heritage specialists and historians. \n\nHigh-tech\nAs well as symbolically guiding the torch on it’s journey up to Paris\, the show is also designed to showcase France’s innovation prowess. The cutting-edge technology\, iBOLT projectors\, unveiled in March 2024\, will provide optimum illumination of the towers and ensure widespread coverage of the area. \nThese devices offer unrivalled power\, equivalent to that of a miniaturised lighthouse\, with the distinctive feature of very low energy consumption thanks to the latest-generation LEDs. \n\nGet involved\nWe know they are some incredible photographers in our P-O Life community so why not get involved?
