There’s only 2 more Saveurs de Terroir events left for this year so there’s no better time than now to support our region’s producers. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nFROM 5.30pm TO 8.30PM\n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nWorking hard on our behalf are the local producers and farmers\, using their expertise to showcase our region’s finest food and drink. \nAnd what better way to sample the wares than France’s best invention : l’apéritif. Somewhere between snack and starter\, this lingering culinary exploration is best enjoyed on a shady terrace\, with views over the beaches and mountains that make our area so special. \n[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nIf you didn’t get chance to take part last year\, Saveurs du terroir (local tastes) is a union of a dozen local hedonists\, each Saturday\, throughout the summer\, sharing the fruits of their labour and guiding you on a gastronomic journey of epic proportions. \nCharcuterie\, olive oil\, fresh fruit and vegetables\, biscuits and sweet treats\, cheese\, salts\, wines\, beers and much more besides ; organic\, local and made with Catalan pride. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nParticipation costs just €3 (which will also get you a reusable souvenir eco-cup) per person and all produce can be bought and taken home to share with friends\, family and neighbours during your own apéritifs – or snaffled tout seul\, if you prefer! \nFrom 11th July to 19th September\, Saveurs du terroir welcomes you every Saturday\, 5.30pm-8.30pm\, Esplanade Charles Trenet\, Argelès-sur-Mer. \n[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nTerroir\nComing from the French word ‘terre’ for “soil\,” the word ‘terroir’ originally described the special characteristics of a region\, or piece of land\, which gave different varieties of wine\, coffee and tea their individuality. (Soil\, climate\, position\, regional traditions….) \nOver the centuries\, French winemakers developed and took for their own the concept of terroir but the word is still often used to describe rural activities\, harvest festivals etc. \nThroughout the year\, the P-O celebrates every imaginable ‘produit de terroir’\, be it animal\, vegetable or mineral.
