SUMMARY:Carillon Summer: Bell Ringing Festival\, Perpignan 2026
DESCRIPTION:  \nCarillon Summer 2026\n\n\nAn exceptional visit by international carillonneurs will take place on July 7th and July 20th.  An Australian contingent of 8 carillonneurs will be coming to Perpignan to see and play the Saint John the Baptist cathedral carillon.  No formal concert is announced\, but they will be performing on the carillon from 16H30-18H00 on July 7th. \nLater that month\, the composer and carillonneur Naoko Tsujita will be making a special visit to Perpignan to play the carillon.  An American of Japanese origin\, Naoko won the international carillon composition contest sponsored by the Sacred Music Festival\, several years ago.  She will have the identical time-playing frame on July 20th.  The public is more than welcome.  Rendezvous Old Saint John Square\, adjacent the cathedral. \n\nThe International Carillon Festival of Perpignan will be held from August 10-14\, and will feature carillonneurs from Denmark\, the Netherlands\, Spain\, Poland and France.  “Artisans of Time” is the theme for the festival\, inspiring carillonneurs to perform challenging music which puts the Perpignan’s historic Amédée Bollée carillon into the spotlight.  An exceptional concert opening the festival on August 10th will be given by Elizabeth Vitu and Laurent Pie\, the assigned cathedral carillonneurs\, in duo with three musicians playing Catalan instruments\, similar to a mini-coblà.  All the festival concerts are free.  Rendezvous:  St. John square adjacent the cathedral\, 18H00. \nGuided tours of the cathedral belfry and Amédée Bollée carillon will take place from August 10-14 at 15H00.  Places limited to 9 people per visit.  Not recommended for those with vertigo or heart conditions.  Reservation only\, through the Perpignan Tourist Office. \n \nFor more info\nFollow them on Facebook \nShare this:\n				Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window)\n				Facebook\n			\n				Click to share on X (Opens in new window)\n				X\n			\n				Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)\n				LinkedIn\n			\n				Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)\n				Pinterest\n			\n\n	Related\n
