SUMMARY:CSF NEWSLETTER: NOVEMBER 2020
DESCRIPTION:Hello Everyone\nPhew!   The other day I heard a good description of Time as we now know it – the days seem long but the weeks pass quickly – really quickly.  That « extra hour » which we hear about when the clocks go back\, for me anyway\, just whittles away\, as the much-promised light morning becomes a dark morning before you know it and the evenings – well\, let’s not go there! \nIn our gardens and on our walks we are suddenly surprised to have the company of birds.  The hoopoe in the pine forest is seen and not heard at this time of year\, all his wooing is over and he’s now flying incognito to prepare for winter.  Too many prowling cats prevent me from birdwatching in my garden but I can hear them and that is such a great pleasure. \nWay back at the beginning of March we held an event at the Chateau de l’Ou in Montescot called Vins de Femmes – a wine tasting organised by 12 vineyards\, all of them with lady winegrowers.   It was a chance to taste some of the excellent wines\, meet like-minded people and learn a bit about the mysteries of French viticulture.  It was very well attended and indeed\, people are still talking about it! \nOn October 26th\, Claudia and Maggie were invited to an informal gathering of the 12 winegrowers\, at the Chateau de Rey in Canet en Roussillon.  There they were presented with a virtual cheque for €3\,000 – a spectacular amount of money!  Maggie said a few words to thank them for their donation and a glass of wine finished off the celebration. \n\n \nThe money will be a lifeline this year for our association\, as so many events have had to be cancelled due to Covid-19. \nSpeaking of which\, I’m afraid our Drop-Ins are cancelled until further notice and there will be no Christmas Market this year. \nChristmas Cards  \nIt’s never too early to order your cards.  Have a look at them on our website.  Just let Maggie have your order and we will make all the arrangements for delivery.  Her e-mail address is sud-maggie@cancersupportfrance.org\n\nSausages\nCorinne has e-mailed me about her seasonal sausages.  Really easy to order and pick up from local delivery points.  Have a look at the details below.\n.\n\nBrexit Information & Resources\nThis link will take you to general  Brexit information and then by scrolling down to Resources\, you’ll be able to go to the Brexit section of our CSF Forum.  All you need to know here and it’s updated regularly.\n \nCSF Sud  –  April Open Meeting\nWe have a date for our annual Open Meeting  – Wednesday 14 April 2021.   We’re very much looking forward to getting together once more.  Please make a note in your diary.  It would be nice to make this occasion a bumper celebration! \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease remember that if anyone is struggling or needing help\, the CSF telephone and email helplines are always open.   We are there for everyone needing assistance at this time as well as for those affected by cancer. \n\n\n\n\nWe will keep everyone informed of any further developments. \n  \n\n\nDiana Eastaff \n\n\n
