SUMMARY:CSF NEWSLETTER: MARCH 2021
DESCRIPTION:Hello Everyone\nThere’re all sorts of activity going on outside.  Judging by the full car parks at local DIY stores and garden centres\, people are still finding things to build\, repair\, paint and plant. \nCycling past campsites\, I’m pleased to see gates open and massive diggers in operation.  Down at the beach there are signs of life at some of the restaurants and bars – even the dodgem cars are getting a spit and polish. \nRattling along past fields and gardens\, there’s a lovely smell of newly mown grass and I spotted daisies and buttercups and random clumps of daffodils.  Surely someone has planted those – I’d like to ask them how they do it.  No matter how hard I try\, mine always end up looking as if they are obeying the social distancing rules! \nYou will see I have attached CSF Languedoc’s Newsletter just to give you an idea of what’s happening further afield.  As well as CSF-L activity\, there is interesting news about advances in cancer care and cancer research. \nJUST A SUGGESTION: \nUnfortunately\, yet another month with no Drop Ins but I know that a few people are meeting up in small groups and there are also one or two Zoom meetings going on. \nI wonder if anyone would like to suggest meeting up in a small group of no more than 6\, in order to stay in line with government guidelines.  It could be book swopping or DVD swopping or just linking up with friends for coffee and a chat. \nThe weather is becoming a little more conducive to meeting outside and\, although we’d have to stick to the 6 people limit\, I think\, in fact that would certainly be the ideal situation. \nThis really is just a fishing expedition at the moment but if anyone is interested in joining or hosting\, then I’m more than happy to organise the groups.  All suggestions and comments are most welcome! \nRead the national CSF newsletter by clicking the image below\n\n\nLooking ahead\nThursday 9 September   Activity for Life  –  Maureillas \nOur Walk for Life is definitely going ahead.  The date has been fixed and we are starting to organise the sponsored walks. \nThere will be more details in my next Newsletter but we can certainly look forward to getting together at the end of the summer.  As in previous years\, there will be games\, stalls and music.  Everyone is welcome to come along and join in and bring their own picnic lunch. \nWednesday 13       CSF Sud  –  Autumn Open Meeting – Perpignan \nWith things as they stand at the moment we thought it wise to postpone our April Open Meeting and as there will be no Autumn Ball this year\, why not look at October 13th as a possible replacement date. \nLet’s be positive and put this in the diary! \nThere will be no changes to the arrangements that were in place for April.  We start with coffee\, then a brief update on all the CSF news.  We are very happy to say that our proposed speaker\, Charles Van Oudenhove\, is able to be with us.  (If you need a reminder\, he’s a doctor in the Palliative Care Mobile team in Perpignan Hospital where he has been working for the last twenty years.  He and his team go wherever they are called in the Pyrénées Orientales – hospitals\, clinics\, retirement homes or to people’s homes – helping doctors and nurses give the best palliative care possible.) \nI really hope that by October we will all feel safe enough to venture out and start seeing our friends.  This seems to be the perfect opportunity to meet up again after so long. \n\n\n\n\n\nPlease remember that if anyone is struggling or needing help\, the CSF telephone and email helplines are always open.   We are there for everyone needing assistance at this time as well as for those affected by cancer. There is also lots of information on our website.\n\n\n\n\nDiana Eastaff \n

SUMMARY:Terroirs Divins - wine tasting salon in Rivesaltes
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text] \nTerroirs DiVins – Annual Wine Tasting Salon\nThe Rivesaltes CFPPA (Rivesaltes agricultural college) and its future wine advisors\, also known as the “Vins sur Vingt”\, invite you to join them for the 14th annual TERROIRS DIVINS wine tasting fair on Saturday 27th March. \nThe class is sponsored by Fabienne Bonet\, chairwoman of the Chamber of Agriculture and their specialist training in Management\, Marketing and International Wine Trade is funded by the Regional Council of Occitanie. \nOver 7 months\, the apprentices aquire the necessary skills and expertise to later occupy positions including sales reps\, cellar managers and more… thus becoming Ambassadors for Roussillon wines. \nMore than 90% of the trainees from the class of 2018 have already found jobs\, locally\, nationally and internationally. \nThis year\, the health crisis has forced the programme to think outside the box and the hosting of the salon in itself became a learning challenge. Teachers and staff have worked hard to innovate in response to ever-changing rules and regulations and are proud to launch their very first digital wine fair! \nIn addition to the usual skills of wine tasting\, sales techniques and negotiation\, the brand new format also allows students to implement their theoretical knowledge of strategic and digital marketing.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text] \nJoin the party\nFollow them on Facebook for their live broadcast then buy the wines “click and collect” via the webshop.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_cta h2=”Participating Vineyards:” css=”.vc_custom_1616494774530{background-color: #998288 !important;}”] \n\nCave l’Etoile\, Banyuls sur Mer\nLafage\, Perpignan\nCazes\, Rivesaltes\nMaison Albera\, Arelgès sur Mer\nTerrassous\, Forques\nDeprade Jorda\, Argelès sur Mer\nClos des Vins d’Amour\, Maury\nChâteau Nadal Hainaut\, Le Soler\nMas Delmas\, Rivesaltes\nDomaine du Lycée\, Rivesaltes\nClos d’Elpis\, Saleilles\nPiquemal\, Espira de l’Agly\nChâteau de Pena\, Cases de Pêne\nDanjou Banessy\, Espira de l’Agly\n\n[/vc_cta][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_single_image image=”53253″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column][/vc_row] \n
