Re: Flights to and from the region this summer

We travelled yesterday from Stansted to Perpignan, took the bus to the station and train to Port Vendres. The flight, bus and train all departed on time. Infact, the flight arrived well ahead of schedule. We were expecting Stansted to be quiet, which it was, and the plane to be less than full, which...

Re: Ryanair

I am sure everyone will wish to join me, a little belatedly, in wishing Ryanair a Happy 35th Birthday!

Operations began in early July 1985 and here is an interesting history I came across this morning:

Also, the Foreign Office now advises against all but essential travel to mainland Spain. This has implications for travel insurance.

Re: Crossing from France to Spain and Back

Yes but there is a chance of being caught out on a spot check with a fine being imposed for breach. Remember, everyone entering the UK has to complete the Government's Passenger Locator Form.

As far as Girona airport is concerned, I suspect that Ryanair to cancel flights

Restaurants in the UK

Some people living in the PO night be wondering what it is like eating out in restaurants in the UK at present. We are flying out tomorrow from Stansted to Perpignan and decided to stay overnight at an airport hotel and eat in the local town, Bishops Stortford. We don’t know the town well and chose ...

Hi Nicki

I suspect our journey by Ryanair this Sunday from Stansted to Perpignan will be less pleasant.

Perpignan airport bus on Sundays

Is anyone able to help please? We arrive at Perpigan airport on Sunday 26 July at 14.55 and are planning to use line 6 to get to the railway station to catch a train to Port Vendres. We have used line 6 numerous times in the past but never before on a Sunday. There seems to be conflicting informatio...

Re: Flights to and from the region this summer

With the resumption of regular flights into the Region, it would be really good to hear from people who have been passengers of their experiences not not only on the flight but also at the airport with regard to the "new normal".

Hi Nicki That's good. How are you planning to travel now? We are still hoping to fly Ryanair from Stansted to Perpignan at the end of the month. By the way, I have been reminded that it used to be possible to travel Eurostar to Lille and change there by simply crossing platforms for a train to the R...

Re: Easyjet

I have just tried using, on-line, the Easyjet voucher I received for the flight they cancelled. First, I tried to use it to add seats to an existing booking in September but there was no facility for using vouchers. I then tried using it to make a completely new booking next year. In this case there...

That will please my daughter, her husband and children who are planning to fly into Carcassonne in early August and spend a holiday at our house in Port Vendres. Eurostar to Avignon

Unfortunately, I see the BBC is now reporting:

"Eurostar's direct summer services to Lyon, Avignon and Marseilles, which were meant to start in May, will no longer be run at all in 2020 or 2021. Instead, the rail company will focus on its main routes between London, Paris, Brussels and Amsterdam".

I think what happened is that we told the hotel that we needed to get home quickly and they took us at our word!

If we were doing it now, I think we would look at all options and may indeed walk between stations.
