The voie verte goes right past my house. There's a barrier at each end of a 3km (approx.)section with a sign saying route barrée. I can't see the logic because the path is wide enough to pass with a 2m distance. You are only allowed to go up to 1km from home for exercising.

Check before you go, there´s been a rock fall earlier this month which has blocked one of the routes. I also heard a rumor that someone´s been going round changing the route direction signs.

We got ours from the Vinci boutique near Rivesaltes. You can get to it from the motorway or the main road. I see you can get them now which goes right down to Portugal. vinci-autoroutes.com/fr

Post brexit you will only be allowed to stay for 90 days in any 180 days. For a carte de séjour you need to be fiscally resident. You will also need proof of income and health insurance.
We've bought various vehicles in France, privately and through dealerships but never been asked for proof of residence. Keep the grey card on you when driving, but don't leave it in the car. The grey card must have the owners name on it.
