Thanks Kate, I'm in the thro's of re boiling it but I'm not holding my breath! In a way it's my own fault because I did look at Internet before I started this recipe after seeing the quantity of water and juice but still went ahead with the recipe even though everything elseI looked at were so diffe...

Thanks for your suggestions. Yes Sue I did keep the pips and fruit pulp in a muslin bag and boiled it with the rest. I won't be making marmalade again as it looks like this lot will be getting drained down the sink. However, we do have tree of kuamquats, not yet ripe so I have decided to make jam/ma...

Linda Razzell's orange marmalade with chillies

Help! I made this marmalade this week, followed the recipe exactly, I was concerned about 2.5 litres of water plus the juice from the oranges and lemons as there was so much liquid involved. I jarred the 'liquid' turned the jars upside down, some in the fridge and some outside. 2 days later and the ...

I can't stand cold milk now but loved it at school, especially during the winter months when it was delivered outside the door to the playground and we drank it really cold. We also had a biscuit box which served plain 'Marie' type of biscuits, 1 each, meant for the poorer children who didn't have br...

Intermarché Rip Off!

I needed 3 large unwaxed lemons. (I know it's easy to get the wax off), however, as I was in Thuir I decided to go to Intermarché as they usually have unwaxed lemons in a pack of 4. The only lemons they had were waxed and I bought 3. From there I went to Lidl for the rest of the ingredients needed, ...

We have lived permanently in the region since 1986 and have to say it is difficult to recognise certain parts. We lived initially in Perpignan where my husband's post was. I found a part time job in Thuir, a village neither of us knew but fell in love with. We bought a house in the center but found ...

Parking at Vilafant (Figueras) for the AVE

I seem to remember enquiries regarding parking at Vilafant station. We have just returned from a short break leaving the car there. We were away for 4 nights and were advised at the station that the it was cheaper to pay for a week than 4 days. The cost for 7 days paying in advance and presenting you...

One of the worst experiences I had was one of a circuit judge and his family at a beautiful property in Segovia. The worst ever was a group of 16 rugby players, who played in the team when Will Carlson was captain, the property was in Prades. The company thought the booking was a joke originally and...

Filmon

For a while now we are having serious problems with Filmon. Either we can't get it all or it freezers continually. Any suggestions? We can't even see Sky news as I suspect our dish has moved. This can be rectified obviously but Filmon is a real nuisance!

There is no mention of the Perpignan-Madrid flight in the P-O life. I couldn't have imagined it because I remember it stating that it would start around 26th April and cost €119. Maybe there has been a re-think and they have decided against it!
