Actually is was Thuir because that was where I had registered for the card. Also I think that Llupia lacks atmosphere and the last time I was in there, experienced a foul smell of fish that gone off! Not long before that I wanted a trout and the assistant said 'don't you like salmon', she looked aro...

I rarely shop at Intermarché but needed a few items today. I asked if I had credit on my card and was informed 56 centimes. I nearly said to forget it but decided to have it deducted to verify whether or not they asked for ID! I offered my key ring card to be told I had to have the full size card an...

Kodi

Has anybody loaded Kodi? Our son in Madrid recommended it. Apparantly it's excellent, it receives all the usual TV channels and all films immediately after they are released. The TV channels still freeze like Filmon for us near Thuir, but the movie channels seem to work. It would probably work bette...

I applied the talc last night and it has worked wonders! The stain is still visable, I've applied more this morning, at least it's dela...

I dropped a bottle of sesame oil and the top came out splattering a mat painted wall! I realise it will have to be repainted but in the meantime I am trying to get rid of as much oil as possible. I have tried the hot iron on top of kitchen paper to no avail, please can anybody advise!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Kathyw, what a coincidence! Our son has a house in Childwall (let out at the moment as he's abroad). We lived in Abbeystead Rd before moving to Menlove Ave and then in 1986 to Perpignan now we live in Llupia. Do you get back to Liverpool often?

Restaurant Thuir

It was probably Arbequina which uses arbequina olives for their oil which are tiny and sourced in Lleida Catalunya. Unusual menu, very good. Also it could have been Casa Ostra, a fish/seafood restaurant which also takes orders for take away fruits de mer and I think paellas.

We had no electricity in Llupia from 3am Sunday until 6pm and then it went off at 10pm but just for a few minutes. Miserable long day but compared to the poor people in villages such as Rasiguers completely flooded I am not complaining! Houses with electric shutters (which are most of them) had no l...

When we moved here in 1986, we couldn't get back to the north of England except via Barcelona and at a price! We now find ourselves in a similar situation! Sliced bread

Thanks for all your ideas. I can't stand Bimbo. It was the first industrialised bread in Spain as far back as about 1968. I'll try Mercadona's sliced bread. It will be only be a one off buy as I eat graines & céréales bread on the rare occasion that I eat it.
