What day is market in Barcares, please (In September)

Sorry can't help with the market day but we went yesterday to suss out the new Voie Vert d'Agly, a path for cyclists and pedestrians starting from Bacares and ending near Rivesaltes about 14kms each way along the River Agly. Looks good and it's flat, apparently!

Will give it a try and report back if anyone's interested.

The market in Place de la Republique (the main square) is on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays throughout the year.

The voie verte is flat but not sheltered from the Tramontane when its blowing - hard work going towards Rivesaltes but great coming back! It provides an excellent base for exploring other areas linking up with the velo litoral and in particular there are a number of marked routes around Torreilles. As an alternative you can go in the other direction to Leucate Plage with a lovely section through pine woods between Port Leucate and Leucate Plage.
