Where to Sell Good Quality Furniture

Post by GrahamC »

Hello all,

We are about to move into the Vallespir to begin a new life as semi French residents!

The house we are buying comes fully furnished and equipped. Whilst most of it is destined for the decheterie, there are some really good pieces of solid quality furniture (bookcases, sideboard etc).

So, what's the best way of selling such items in France? Are there dealers in such things, is E-Bay.fr the answer?

Thanks in anticipation for any enlightenment you can offer us!

Hi Graham and Jill and a warm, warm welcome.

Le Bon Coin would probably be your best bet. This forum also has a For Sale section, and so does our FB page.

Best of luck

You could try Troc. As I understand it you put the stuff in the shop, set your own price and Troc take a percentage although I'm happy to be corrected. http://www.troc.com/fr/

I may disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it.

Thank you all so much for your responses. I'll try Leboncoin first because its typically French stuff, so might not appeal so much to English tastes.

I don't suppose you have a wardrobe and/or chest of drawers!

Almost certainly have a chest of drawers or two, a sideboard, a dining table and 5 chairs, a sofa and 2 large and impressive vitrines. It all appears to be very good quality solid wood stuff. Sorry, no wardrobes.

I really need a wardrobe that is hanging one side and shelves the other thus doing away for the need of a chest of drawers.
