Natural Hot Pools

Post by GrahamC »

Hi everyone,

I've seen a couple of references to natural uncommercialised natural hot pools (in the woods, not tourist attractions). Apparently there's one near Font Romeu and another near Ax les Thermes.

Has anyone come across either of these.? If, so, any chance of posting or PMing directions to them?

I'm also wondering if there might be something similar near La Preste in the Vallespir. Has anyone heard of one there?

I have been to one in the hills above St. Thomas les Bains. A series of small pools in a mountain stream.

I share your interest.

Hi John, thanks for the info, can you still remember how to get to it?

From memory :)

Drive up the road past the right turn for St Thomas Les Bains.

Squiggle a bit until you get to a sharp right-bend with a parking spot on the left.

Park there and go over the brow, down into the valley and up again. The most magical bit is the approach seeing the steam above the trees.

p.s the dress code is whatever you want, or don't.
