Canet Aquarium

Post by BT »

Hi, I read somewhere that the aquarium is due to be demolished and re-built with work commencing in October 2017.

Does anyone know the date it closes from? I do appreciate that it will take them a few weeks to move all the exhibits!

I'm hoping to visit the aquarium the week commencing the 17th September.

Regards

I read about the renovations recently....but can't remember when it closes. September rings a bell. Maybe best to ring ahead.

We went to the Banyuls aquarium a few years ago, has it been extended? One of my brothers hasn't been to the one in Canet , that is why it is on the list this year.

Banyuls aquarium has moved to a completely new building not far from the old one.

It appears from their website that they are only allowing guided visits which have to be booked in advance.

So it's in a new plaice?

Moving premises is always tricky. Hopefully they don't flounder.

It is intended to be much better, bigger and diverse. They recently invited press but were so far behind scedule that it was a bit embarrassing as there was nothing to see apart from a few sad sea creatures waiting to be properly placed. Lots of potential but still a bit of work to do.

Those tanks are heavy. They must have had lots of mussel.

They'll be fine if everyone works together and not be shellfish

These puns are rather nauseating - I'm feeling quite eel.

I could give you a slap round the face with a wet haddie. It wouldn't help much, but it might take your mind off it. Or at least that's how I cod myself.

My aunt from Yorkshire had a cure for a wrasse, she also rubbed it on turbot.

This thread will grind to a halt on its own - just wait and sea.
