Am I doing something wrong - I can only get a couple of seconds of the lovely opening shot and the music, then it stops.

It's probably buffering carol. If there is a pause button click on that and wait for the bar at the bottom to show complete, then click pause again and it should play all the way through.

Hope that's not confusing, I only just understand that and I wrote it!

Carol, if you move the cursor over the screen you will get the opportunity to turn the high definition off. It should then run fine.
