Cancelling Direct Debits

Post by Mysota »

Could anyone advise me of the procedure for cancelling direct debits. I am in no doubt that those rogues at the bank will charge me for the pleasure but do I need to approach them initially in order to do this or the company I originally set the DD up with?

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

When I have cancelled direct debits in the past, it has always been via the bank. Can't remember paying anything (but that doesn't mean I didn't!!)

I also prefer to cancel debts through some financial institution.I this case you are saved from useless litigation and extra spending of money.
