Insuring French cars whilst in the UK (Period of one year)

Post by Nigel Bright »

Can anyone tell me if they know a French insurance company that will insure French cars for a year or more whilst in the UK. I am currently in the UK, on a one year work contract with my French car and my current AXA insurance only covers me for a maximum of 3 months whilst abroad?
I had been told UK insurers would insure French cars using the chassis number, but now find out that they only provide this cover for a maximum of one month, until the car is re-registered in the UK.
Any help will be appreciated!

Hi Nigel,
If you look on P37 of the latest POLife, there is an ad for Copeland insurance who claim to be specialists on insuring UK cars in France, so maybe they work the other way round too? Worth a try. Bon courage.
