Bacioni, Le Boulou (takeaway)

Post by Damo »

Bacioni (takeaway)
38 Avenue du General Joseph Santraille
66160 Le Boulou

Phone: 04 68 88 01 69

Cuisine: Italian

Genuine wood-fired pizzas and bruschetta to takeaway. They don't do sides but do have a selection of Mars brand ice creams (Mars, Twix etc) and waffles for dessert. Pizzas come "petite" (about 9 inch) and "grande" (about 12 inch) and are absolutely delicious - pretty much restaurant quality in a box to take home. Only thing for a takeaway is they don't cut it into slices unless you ask, but that seems fairly common in France and didn't bother us much as we were taking it home anyway where we obviously had access to cutlery. I'm sure they would if you asked though. Prices work out cheaper than British takeaways but much higher quality than the chains that adorn British streets. Highly recommend if in need or want of takeaway pizza in the area. Parking right outside and takes about 10 minutes for an order to be done. If no parking in road, there is a car park just past the establishment outside the SNCF freight depot which is signed as available for the public as long as you don't block access ways. You can phone them in advance and go collect the order so it is ready upon arrival. Just be careful when going around corners on the way home so the pizzas don't fall on floor of the car or tip too much if being held by a passenger - otherwise that delicious wet mozzarella will end up over one side of the pizza!
