Figueres - shop and eat

Post by Kate »

The new Lidl in Figueres opened yesteday for those who use it - it now has a fresh fish and meat area which look to be of really good quality, low prices compared to France.

Visited the restaurant Wok You. Amazing prices and great food. See review in restaurants

If you know the Wine Palace, it's just round the corner from that on the road to the town centre. To get there, take the second exit for Figs (might be marked Rosas but not sure - need somebody with better directional skills than me to explain it ) then um, turn left somewhere.... sorry, if I'm not driving myself, I'm not very observant!!

You do not need the motorway sue!

use the N9 past all those ladies enjoying the fresh air  Take the Roses turning , but the road then forks, use the first exit round the bend, give way at the bottom , continue left and follow that road past 2 roundabouts, you will see wine Palace, still continue on the main road, you will then see Lidl on your left( about 2 blocks before the train station)
Lidl has not moved , just had an extension.

For the resto.
when you see the wine palace take the 3rd exit off the roundabout , continue cown that road , look to your left after the open ground(there is sometimes a circus / traveling funfair on it) you will then see the restaurant.

The first map guided you to the shop & the second gave you a better plan of the area ;)

we love the Market in Figueres (Tues/Thurs/Sat am) , we buy our English Back Bacon in the Lidl, we get lovely sausages from the little Butchers on the same side of the road as lidl towards the Market Square and we always go to the 'Scoop Shop' opposite the old covered Market place when visiting the Market.....
