I'm looking for a recommendation for locally produced honey, around St André. Anyone?

Not sure about Saint André but there is a producer called Le Ceretane who's honeys are brilliant. He's based in Rue des Salines in Ceret but has hives all over the Roussillon and sells at various markets.

If you follow the road up to the hameau de Lavail, the old boy who has the house on the right, just opposite the bar does delicious honey from his family's hives on the slopes of the Chateau d'Ultrera, but be quick, I think he's contemplating giving up the business.
an' the wun' cried Mary.

There is guy on route strategique in Port-Vendres, on the right going to Fort St Elne. Just a house: you go down his steps, he has small trailers for his stuff along his fence. Every Wed and Sat afternoon. Half-a-dozen different sorts: they seem OK to me, given that they are 5 minutes walk away, but I make no claims to connaisseur-ship.
