The great TV Debate
Sorry for brining this subject up again, but after a couple of years since the great free view switch off, can anyone suggest a workable easy alternative in receiving british TV Im in St Cyprian and i try and use the internet to download IPlayer ect. However the internet speeds im pulling are 0.8 when downloading
Do I just give up and treat the TV as a lost cause or can anyone recommend anything. (A supper size sat dish isnt an option). Thanks

Firstly have you checked that your internet speed is correct and typical for where you live? You may have a faulty line or routerToenail wrote:Sorry for brining this subject up again, but after a couple of years since the great free view switch off, can anyone suggest a workable easy alternative in receiving british TV Im in St Cyprian and i try and use the internet to download IPlayer ect. If you have a property in the UK, or family there, then you could use a Slingbox (your internet speed should be fast enough for that).
There is another satellite that you could tune your dish to that requires a decoder. The service is not guaranteed but has worked for a number of years.
Most UK TV is available to download via newsgroups, so you could just leave a PC downloading overnight.
Of the above the Slingbox is the most elegant solution
