I'm struggling a bit to get to the bottom of conflicting online advice...

When (roughly / normally) does one pick almonds in the PO, to dry?
Does one normally remove the green husk before drying or dry with it attached.

I think there are 2 picking seasons, around now for green ones and later in the year for ripened ones.

Both my neighbour and my gardener have orchards of almonds, I'll ask then and let you know.

You might have to buy something, but she's very knowledgable, speaks English, and should be able to give you loads of tips. The almond cracknel is deeeeeeeee lish!

Oh wow, they look like they may have some good tips. If I can find 5 mins I'll pop over to see them...if anyone has any info in the meantime please let me know as I don't want to find time to go to the almond farm in a few weeks only to find ice missed the season

A few years back Christine Llense finished her university degree for learning everything about almonds. She has changed quite a few things when she took control of the business. She made the local news as things went from better to better.

I drive past her area but I never stopped. Maybe I will have to see what she has, although it's fattening, I think. Miammmm!
