Dog Swap

Post by r3h »

Is anyone interested is swapping dogs for visits back to UK holidays, we have yours, you have ours?
Surprised not to have found existing system for this as most of us go back to UK regularly.
We have loving neutered GSD, fully passported, but dont want the expense of taking him back every time.
We would be happy to host your dog/s in exchange.
There are some french websites offering this, but poor coverage in our area.
Many issues to address, but any thoughts?
Thanks, Di Hamilton.

I think it's a great idea and would certainly be interested in the future. At the moment, we are away quite a lot within France and Spain, so take Haribo with us and wouldnt be able to look after another dog, but certainly something to keep in mind.

think it's a great idea as well ( although wouldn't beable to leave my lot with anyone). For someone who just has 1 or 2 dogs it must be a better solution than putting them in kennels.

Its ok if you have a large garden for them to run around. A GSD would not be good in my 1 bed apartment with 2 postage stamps for gardens. Anyway my yorkie would eat him alive!! I am joking, for the right people with the right property it is an excellent idea.

We are close to Ceret, and moving house to a bigger one, with lots of garden.
It's a question of finding someone who roughly matches your times away, and with dog/s that are compatible.
The need for this is ongoing, as long as trips back to UK and holidays last.

Dog Sitting

Post by MountainGal »

Hi,

If you don't find another solution, I take in dogs at my home for sitting. I'm about 30 mins from Ceret in the mountains and can offer excellent references.

Please pm me if you need anymore info.
