Dachshunds

The dog of my childhood was a long-haired standard black-and-tan dachshund, which made him, by definition, the nicest dog in all the world.
I used to sneer at the smooth-haired miniatures that other people had, but I got less picky over the decades because I saw so few of any kind.
Port-Vendres is, admittedly, the world capital of nice little dogs of all sorts, but even so, I’ve seen more dachshunds here recently than in the last 40 years. I even saw a wire-haired one the other day, which is like being struck by lightning.
Is this just me, or is it a “thing� And can anyone recommend a kind person who breeds long-haired standard black-and-tans? Preferably called Otto.
