I was just asked to buy an insurance for my dog's health. This was somethings around 8 euros per month, per animal. I have a dog which is ten years old~sorry they will not take this risk. Same for my poor old cat. No insurance for this animal neither.

My youngish dog, at two years, he can be insured by the Swiss Life insurance company.

I told them sorry but no special insurance for a two years old dog.

They seem to cover both health and responsabilite civile, too

These insurers are indeed good professionals.

I think that this is what insurers call "adverse selection": you do not want to insure your young dog because you think it will stay healthy. They do not want to insure your old pets because they guess that you are pretty sure they will soon get sick. Insurers are not charities, and the Swiss ones less than most.
