Tick and Tapeworm treatment

We have someone visiting in August who are bringing their dog. They have read somewhere that they have to have to take the dog to the vet 24hrs-48hrs before re-entering the UK for him to have treatment against ticks and tapeworms. They are only here for a week does anyone know if this is the case?

In a nutshell Yes. The strict rules are for the re entry into the UK.
