The roundabout next to the Perpignan Nord motorway exit is home to a giant sundial that apparently cost around 300,000 Euro.
UNESCO has declared 2015 the International Year of Light and Light-Based Technologies (IYL-2015). For sundialists, the inauguration of SOLART2 on the June 2015 solstice may be the highlight. SOLART2 is the largest IYL-2015 artistic sundial project in Europe.
Every time I have gone past this sundial it has shown the time an hour out. I assumed this was because it would be right in summertime but today I passed it only to find it is 2 hours out.
You would think that for 300,000 Euro it would show the correct time for at least half the year/
It would appear to be set to GMT probably in honour of their British residents
