Time wasters

Post by opas »

I was recently contacted by someone via my website looking for a house rental. I The person was on facebook, and two other forums I use and seemed desperate for a house in the area. Another forum member also suggested they contact me, I forwarded the persons details to 2 people who I thought may be interested in long term rental - which they were.
I spent quite a few hours trawling my emails to contact these owners for this other person.
Now the house hunter has dropped off the radar, not answering emails - either to myself or the home owners ,why do people do that? why not just say the properties are not suitable!

so annoying.

Perhaps they were pre-occupied searching for flights on your 'Weekend Wonder Sale'.

You never did explain that.

But where was the joke?

It seems a bit silly posting something that looks genuine but isn't just because it is the 1st of April.

Did I miss a hidden joke somewhere?

I think it is the joke that is supposed to be silly rather than the person.

Had your time wasters enquired on 1 April would their time wasting have been funny - I don't think so.

I think it might be best to leave it to us to judge who is boring, and who insulting.

mmmm is this the one where I told her to contact you and several other property managers who I know would have the sort of thing she was wanting (quite a lot)? - I spent loads of time on this too. She was on quite a few FB groups?

Sorry , but it's no different to me doing quotes for work , sometimes spending hours of time , fuel and other people's time only not to hear from them again.
It's just part and parcel of being in business.
Although I do agree ,a "thanks but no thanks " is always appreciated

meow!

I agree interiors66, I too go and give a price to do changeovers , get trades to do prices for me, I always push the owner for an answer even if it is 'thanks but no thanks'

Same here, I racked my brains as she had emailed me once then phoned me from Santiagos recommendation.

never mind, both home owners have mailed today to confirm they have had no further response to her phone calls and emails.
I am being nice now and hoping she is OK.
