Registering a car in France
Regarding your article about registering a British car in France. A female friend of ours did exactly what you suggest and evrything was fine, however she fell at the final hurdle because she had to prove her maiden name, which is apparently quite normal procedure for females. She then had to go to the trouble of getting her birth certificate sent from home to her address in France which created an obvious delay and added expense.
So I would suggest that any married female takes both her birth certificate and also her marriage certificate when registering a vehicle.

Thanks Chris. Will add this to the article. I actually based it on helping out a friend last year - but he was a man!
In theory, that should be being phased out....
