The law is good, I never drive in flipflops for exactly that reason. The fine seems a bit heavy handed but not knowing the law is no excuse for breaking it. I guess unlucky but fair.

I have good reason now to visit the sales and buy some sandles that fasten.

I did know that was a law, but i must admit i drive in the summer in `flip flops` not tbe rubber/ plastic beach version, but the Birkenstock variety.

I used to and (sometimes still do) drive in big stack heels all the time. Never does me any harm. My driving remains consistently bad whatever I wear! :oops:
