Baguettes

Post by Libby »

In our early days of living here, in France, we were discussing bread with some neighbours..
My husband said it doesn't last as long as British bread as they, the French bakers, don't put in preservatives.
When they, the neighbours, had picked themselves up from the ground and dried their eyes they explained the meaning of preservatives!!!
Just to make clear, in French they are condoms.

Next time they admire his duffle coat, he could tell them where to get a capote anglaise.
