Help with a poorly cherry tree??

Post by Mortimer »

We have a cherry tree in our garden in Céret which looks very ill - dropped all its leaves very early in the year, not a single one left. No sign of any new shoots. Can anyone recommend someone who might be able to help?

Hi, we too have experienced issues with our cherry trees and to my understanding the commercial growers did also this year, we have been informed by a local grower that it is due to the white cherry moth or possibly the cherry fruit moth, and nothing much can be done for this year, he was not sure what would happen next year, it might be worth talking to the guys at Gamme Vert but they might be happy to sell you a product that may not help, keep an eye on what the commercial guys are doing.
