Submitting form S1 - already have Carte Vitale
Hi,
I am already registered with the CPAM, have a Carte Vitale and receive health care under the provisions of the PUMA system.
I have recently obtained my S1 and wish to submit this to the CPAM.
Did/does anyone have any issues regarding smooth continuity of their health service when submitting the S1 whilst already registered under the French system?
Thank you in advance...

Are you supposed to get an S1 and give it to the CPAM? What does it entitle you to? We've lived and worked here for a good many years so are already in the system.

Thank you for responding.
I have also lived and been registered for healthcare for many years in France - but having just reached state pension age, the DWP have provided me with my S1.
This not only enables the french authorities to reclaim medical costs incurred by me from the UK gov't (due to my UK NI contributions) but also enshrines my rights to UK medical care. Rights to 'free' UK medical care via the NHS are residency based - and the S1 enables me to claim those rights without residence in the UK.
It will also give me rights to the UK proposed worldwide EHIC replacement.
I am merely seeking to know if there are any issues with continuity of health care in France when submitting the S1.

Do they send it to you routinly or do you have to request it? If so where do you apply? Might be handy should we need to visit the UK.

You need to speak to DWP. They will assess your eligibility for it.
Generally, be in receipt of UK state pension if you are retired.

It's not DWP but HMRC you have to contact: https://www.gov.uk/government/organisat ... -residents

My understanding is that if you're in receipt of the UK state pension then your S1 comes via the DWP; but if you're working in the UK/living France, or you're a French resident dependant of someone working in the UK, then your S1 comes via HMRC
