Carrefour Market at Laroque are selling FRESH, yes fresh, Turkeys at 2.99€ a kilo. I bought 2 smallish ones at 5.80€ each. As we are not having turkey for Christmas day lunch this year I roasted one last Sunday. I had in my store cupboard a papillote bag all ready prepared with herbs etc and roasted it in that for a couple of hours or so. It was delicious and actually tasted like turkeys of old and not some tasteless meat. 2.99€ a kilo for fresh turkey is an amazing price and on top of that it fed 2 of us hot Sunday, cold Monday and stew tonight. I saw yesterday that they now have larger ones too at the same price.
