Anyway, thanks for all the opinions expressed both on here and the Facebook site.
For now we're OK with Filmon, with its buffering (suits a pair of old buffers). It looks like our son has got us an Android TV box-thingy (geeky enough for you, Kate?), which will cut out the computer element + Apple TV we have at present and connect straight to the TV. He's programmed it to believe we're in the UK. We'll be picking it up on our next trip over there
