I know it gets a bit repetitive after the first few months, but it's hard to conceive how a January day could be nicer than today, short of mermaids sunbathing on the quayside.

Agreed, we were discussing where to go for a walk and I suggested the beach at Argeles or St cyp ,and saying if we did I would take my bathers ,i f I can be daft enough to sweim on new years day then today will be tropical!

It feels like Groundhog Day, give or take a week. But how lovely it has been today, after a 2016 which has been a bit mixed at moments, and I guess not just for me. All my best wishes. It almost reconciles you to losing Winter Fuel Allowance.
