Rental prices

Post by Santiago »

I'm trying to find out the average monthly rent for a fairly well-sized two-bedroom village house with no outdoor space. Unfurnished but in good order.

Any ideas?

What area, Santiago? To let all year round, or just for holidays?

500 euros a month-ish sounds about right, I should think

I have been paying €500 a month for a 2-bedroomed gite with access to a 5-acre garden and a pool. It is very well furnished.
Before that, I paid the same for a 2-bedroomed flat overlooking the lagoon at St. Cyprien Plage. The first was just a 6-month winter let, but the second was for 10 months.
I don't think I would pay €500 for an unfurnished village house without a garden, for a year round let. But of course, that doesn't mean that someone else won't!
Have you looked at the adverts locally, or in Seloger?

I based my answer on the fact that someone I know rents a 2 bed unfurnished place - with terrace - for 550 euros not far from Trouillas. Maybe our new forum member, AI can offer some advice?

Actually I don't. I'm still working out the finances. It's looking pretty tight.

400euros would be more realistic I think ? Unless the house is very high spec. What is the surface area?
The elec and gas etc will all have to be certified as "au norme" as well ..
