School holidays in France are organised according to three “holiday zones”, A, B and C,  in order to manage the flow of French holidaymakers.

Our region comes under zone C (Montpellier)

ZONE A

Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, Poitiers.


1st September – Rentrée (return to school after summer hols)
22nd October – 7th November –
Toussant. Half term
17th December – 3rd January 2023 – Christmas hols
3rd January 2023
– Rentrée (return to school after Christmas hols)
4th – 20th February 2023– February half term term
8th – 24th  April  2023 – Easter holiday
8th July 2023 – Start of summer holiday

ZONE B

Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg

1st September – Rentrée (return to school after summer hols)
22nd October – 7th November –

17th December – 3rd January 2023 – Christmas hols
3rd January 2023

11th – 27th February  2023 – February half term term
