School holidays in France are organised according to three “holiday zones”, A, B and C,  in order to manage the flow of French holidaymakers.

ZONE A

Besançon, Bordeaux, Clermont-Ferrand, Dijon, Grenoble, Limoges, Lyon, Poitiers.

1st September 2016 – Rentrée (return to school)
19th October – 3rd November 2016 – Toussaint (Autumn half term)
17th December 2016 to 3rd January 2017 – Christmas holidays
18th February – 6th March 2017 – February half term term
15th April – 2nd May 2017 – Easter holiday
8th July 2017 – Start of summer holiday

ZONE B

Aix-Marseille, Amiens, Caen, Lille, Nancy-Metz, Nantes, Nice, Orléans-Tours, Reims, Rennes, Rouen, Strasbourg

1st September 2016 – Rentrée (return to school)
19th October – 3rd November 2016 – Toussaint (Autumn half term)
17th December 2016 to 3rd January 2017 – Christmas holidays
11th to 27th February 2017 – February half term term
8th to 24th April 2017 – Easter holiday

Créteil, Montpellier, Paris, Toulouse, Versailles.

4th to 20th February 2017 – February half term term
