Les Déferlantes breaking waves in a new location

Same great music, brand new site

After lots of to-ing, fro-ing and hand wrenching on behalf of organisers, the 2023 edition of the region’s iconic summer music festival, Les Déferlantes is hitting the beach!

Yes, that’s right, grab your swimmers ‘cos the action will be unfurling in the gardens of the Lydia in Port Barcarès.

New site

After over 10 years at Château Valmy in Argelès sur Mer, and last year at Château d’Aubiry, in Céret, the festival’s 2023 venue, Le Lydia, is probably best known for the region’s biggest Christmas market.

According to organisers, “the site complies with safety standards and the technical requirements of the artists, has large parking areas, a shady campsite nearby, sufficient accommodation facilities, and a venue that is large enough and suited to welcoming the public”.

Logistically, however, it won’t be a walk in the park as the following weekend (14th-16th July), the very same site will host France’s biggest electronic music festival, Electrobeach! Ooof, that’s a quick turn around!
