Smile please – you’re on camera!

At least two ‘red-light cameras’ have been installed in Perpignan centre to catch drivers running red lights. Although they are not yet in service, the prefecture has announced that they will soon be flashing away, with five expected to be working by this summer, and as many as 15 snapping red light jumpers by 2011.
The first two have been installed at the traffic light at the corner of Avenue Julien Panchot and Rue Mathieu de Dombasle level with Southern Music Shop and the second is on the corner of Avenue Louis TORCAT and Rue Francois Rude.
