Vive la France, Vive la Grève

Without getting embroiled in the politics, this is a list of strikes planned for the coming weeks. Check, double check and even triple check travel plans as strikes can come at any time, causing chaos for travellers.

General Strike, Thursday 13th April

Strikes against retirement reforms continue with another day of generalised action.

Widespread disruption to be expected in major cities and across national transport links. You can check which trains will be running on the SNCF website here.

Air travel is also likely to be affected although the company should contact you directly if your flight is cancelled or delayed.

Higher education, schools and other public services also likely to join the action.

The Conseil constitutionnel should give its verdict on this law on Friday 14th April, which could either bring an end to the strikes, or add fuel to the flames!

Demonstrations are planned in Perpignan (from 10.30am, place de Catalogne), Prades, Céret and Bourg Madame.
